Investing in Tahoe Truckee's future with workforce scholarships

Workforce scholarships are intended to shore up professions and vocations that are in high demand in North Tahoe – Truckee. Young adults from this area who are clear about their path, demonstrate work ethic, and financial need are encouraged to apply.

Scholarships fall into three categories at this time:

Successful transfer from 2 to 4 year school with a clear plan to obtain a degree
Vocational or career tech pathways (for those who have been out of high school for some time and learned what they want to do, or local professionals who want to advance their careers through a certificate or credential program)
Graduate school track to complete their education in professions that are needed in this region

2024 Application Process Open: May 15-June 30, notification by August 1.

Students must be enrolling for the Fall 2024 or Winter/Spring 2025 semesters.

A COMMUNITY INVESTMENT

Workforce scholarships support young adults who are pursuing vital career paths that the Tahoe Truckee region needs. Since 2022, a growing number of local donors, foundations, and businesses have come together to address the urgent need for certain skilled professionals in our region.

Due to the high cost of living and local housing crisis, it is increasingly difficult to attract and maintain a local workforce. This impacts our local nonprofits, schools, hospitals, airport district, hospitality industry, and many trades and vocations. It impacts all of us when we don’t have enough teachers, counselors, first responders, or people to help us maintain our homes and properties.

TTCF is grateful for the donors who have come to the table to invest in young adults who are ready to return to school or advance their knowledge and skill sets.
