AAUW North Tahoe is the local branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW). AAUW is committed to advancing equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research. The AAUW North Tahoe provides a one-time, $3000 scholarship award to an outstanding, high-school graduating, female student. Applications are evaluated on the following:
- Scholastic achievement
- Community activity, work history, and school extracurricular activities
- Personal qualities
- Financial need based on FAFSA-determined Expected Family Contribution (EFC)
- Letter of recommendation
Requirements:
- Reside within the North Lake Tahoe High School attendance area
- Intend to major in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) at a four-year college or university
- Demonstrate scholastic achievement in STEM subjects, and have financial need.
- Have submitted a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for freshman year
