Mountain Area Preservation was established in 1987. It is a grass-roots nonprofit whose mission is to preserve the Truckee region’s community character and the natural environment for present and future generations.
One scholarship is awarded to a North Tahoe-Truckee graduating high school senior, who will be attending a two or four-year college/university and pursuing a degree in the environmental science/studies sector. Special focuses can include natural resource management, planning, law, policy or sustainability.
Requirements: Additional essay.
