The Ferree family created the Jackson Ferree scholarship to honor Jackson. We want to remember and acknowledge Jackson’s character by celebrating a student who is kind, quirky, and deserving, even though not a straight-A student, star athlete, or volunteer extraordinaire.
We wish to recognize an individual who exhibits generosity of spirit, independence, and a willingness to chart their own path through life, regardless of popular notions of success.
One $40,000 ($10,000/year) scholarship is available to students graduating from high schools within TTUSD with independence of spirit and demonstrable kindness.
“To be nobody but myself – in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else – means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight, and never stop fighting” – E.E. Cummings
