TTCF distributed $747,500 to 60 Local Nonprofits during COVID-19

3rd Round of $272,500 in Emergency Response Funding distributed this week

TRUCKEE, Calif.—Within a week of COVID-19 state closures, the Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation established the Emergency Response Fund. It was a timely response to an urgent community need, as local demand for food assistance, mental health support, and housing relief soared. The latest round of funding totals $272,500 to 51 nonprofits, distributed through the criteria outlined in TTCF’s Nonprofit Response Framework. Now with 3 rounds of funding distributed, $747,500 to 60 local nonprofits, TTCF is proud to see these funds at work at the significant need in our community.

“Tahoe Truckee nonprofits have been struggling for months, as their work and funding were derailed by the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. But they were the first to say, give the initial funds to front-line needs,” said Phyllis McConn of the Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation. “That’s exactly what we did–TTCF distributed Round 1 & 2 to our front-line nonprofits and now we have turned to the needs of our tried and true local nonprofits. We applaud their collaboration and resilience during this difficult time–they are a testament to the strength of our community.”

The overwhelming support of the Emergency Response Fund is a celebration of the crucial role local nonprofits play in our community. Losing a single nonprofit means the loss of decades of resources and leadership, a piece of our social fabric that is unraveled. TTCF recognizes these dollars won’t solve the crisis happening in our nonprofit sector, but it can give these hardworking organizations the push they need to survive. The missions of these local nonprofits serve our youth, protect our environment, and bring our community together through the arts. The recipients of round 3 may not be on the front-lines of this crisis, but they will be instrumental to our recovery. TTCF recognizes that continued focus and dedication will be needed overtime to keep Tahoe Truckee’s nonprofit sector afloat. If you would like to support one of our amazing nonprofits, please give to www.GiveBackTahoe.org, or support the TTCF Emergency Response Fund.
