Over the last 15 years, Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation and our donors have distributed more than $80,000 to Alpine Winter Summer Camp. As part of TTCF’s 15 year celebration, AWSC will receive a gift in honor of a TTCF Fund, Alpine Winter Foundation.

Alpine Winter Summer Camp has become a foundational element in Tahoe Truckee Unified School District’s effort to close the achievement gap for children transitioning into kindergarten.

Each summer, children are enrolled to support a future of academic success which boosts school readiness skills and familiarizes them with their elementary school campus and kindergarten routines. As a result of this 4-week camp, children enter school more confident and ready to learn. This concept has been so successful; it has grown into a K Camp which will reach all entering kindergarteners this summer.
