TTCF and donors have distributed close to $80,000 to Aim High to operate here in North Tahoe. In addition, a gift in honor of the donor members of the Women’s Fund will be given to Aim High.
Since 1986, Aim High, a San Francisco based organization, has worked with communities to provide middle school youth from low income families with an engaging summer learning program.
Aim High was implemented in 2012 by TTCF’s Queen of Hearts Women’s Fund. With a highly successful summer enrichment program in 2012, Aim High has embarked on their second summer. They have currently enrolled 101 students from the North Tahoe-Truckee Region. According to student demographic research, 63% of those enrolled will be the first in their families to graduate college.
“The Aim High Program has transformed the learning experience of 100+ children in our community, and improved the learning environment for all middle school youth. The Queen of Hearts Women’s Fund is proud to have played a role in bringing this valuable program to our region.” -Nancy Gisko, Women’s Fund Chair
