Over the last 15 years, Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation and our donors have distributed nearly $150,000 to HSTT. As part of TTCF’s 15 year celebration, HSTT will receive a gift in honor of a TTCF donor, Stuart Feigin.
Humane Society of Truckee Tahoe (HSTT) was founded in 1994 by a small group of dedicated volunteers who realized the need in the community for animal rescue and adoption services. Since then HSTT dedicated its mission to saving and improving the lives of pets through adoptions, community spay/neuter services and humane education programs.
HSTT seeks to provide homes for every single homeless dog and cat in the region, and to help reduce/eliminate euthanasia in other rural or urban animal shelters. They work to provide free pet food to anyone in the community who needs it in order to maintain the health and well-being of animals in addition to keeping families together. Important educational resources are also given to the youth in the community about being responsible pet owners and being safe around animals.
Thanks to the incredible efforts of the HSTT staff, Board of Directors and nearly 400 dedicated volunteers, that have spayed/neutered over 7,000 dogs and cats in the community and have saved the lives of nearly 5,000 beautiful homeless pets.
