We are only a few days into our Holiday Giving Guide, and already our community is participating in the Season of Giving! For six weeks, North Tahoe-Truckee residents, second homeowners, and visitors celebrate the holidays by donating to sixty local nonprofit efforts that make our region such a special place to live, play, and be. TTCF and Sierra Sun present the Give Back Tahoe Holiday Giving Guide online, with a collective giving site at www.givebacktahoe.org, and in a spectacular printed booklet released this Wednesday (make sure you pick it up, you only get once chance!). Then, every Wednesday thereafter, you can watch the Give Back Tahoe Giving Tree grow with our community’s collective generosity in Sierra Sun.
Starting today, we will profile the featured nonprofits on our Facebook page and we encourage you to “like” them, “like” us, and learn more about the inspiring endeavors of your local nonprofits by visiting their websites. When you encounter one (or two, or three!) that gives you that warm fuzzy feeling, donate to their mission and Give Back, Tahoe!
This week’s nonprofits include:
Tahoe Fund, Pet Network Humane Society, Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe, Truckee River Watershed Council, Community of Writers, Truckee Trails Foundation, Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival, Learning Bridge of the Sierra, Tahoe Family Solutions, Big Brothers Big Sisters Of Nevada County and North Lake Tahoe, Family Resource Center of Truckee
