Leadership comes in many forms and places. This year, the Queen of Hearts Women’s Fund at the Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation (TTCF) celebrates ten years of philanthropy in our community.
As we look at the women involved in this powerful network, we see incredible individuals who dedicate their lives to balancing families, professions, and personal passions. We are grateful to be supported by women who see this region as a place in which to invest their energy.
In passing conversations, during errands, at town meetings, we are continuously inspired by the ways women show up as leaders in our community.
We want to celebrate the diverse and extraordinary roles that women take to shape our home and futures, be it as mothers, mentors, business owners, neighborhood leaders, or nonprofit staff or volunteers.
The Women’s Fund began in February 2006 with the dream to inspire 1,000 women to raise $1 million within a single year. This goal was exceeded. To date, the Women’s Fund has raised more than $1.3 million and granted over $510,000.
Supporters continue to come together with a shared purpose: to make a bigger impact collectively than we can individually. We have seen the power of over 1200 like (and unlike!) minded women when they come together to positively influence a community.
Marking the ten years, supporters continue to impact the community through a myriad of ways including grantmaking, volunteering, our youth philanthropy project Girls Giving Back, and the holiday senior gift giving program.
On August 4, our Annual Event will include a special announcement to celebrate and advance women as leaders in our region. Join us to meet these amazing women and to hear about the influence the Queen of Hearts has in our community. Space is limited at this intimate event at Jake’s on the Lake. Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served along with a cash bar. RSVP here.
