Scholarships
At TTCF, we partner with local scholarship committees to offer more than 110 community scholarships each year. Our online platform provides a streamlined common application, making it easier for students to pursue their dreams—whether at two-year colleges, four-year universities, or vocational schools.
Since 2017, TTCF donors have increased our scholarship funding by nearly 400%! However, the rising costs of education continue to outpace our resources. Your support can make a difference. Join us in investing in the future by contributing to our Community Scholarship Fund.
The 2025 Scholarship Application Cycle is Now Open!

Workforce Scholarships empower young adults to pursue essential career paths that directly benefit the Tahoe Truckee region. Since 2022, TTCF has united local donors, foundations, and businesses to address the growing demand for skilled professionals in our community.
These scholarships support careers in critical fields such as aviation, STEM pathways, education, and vocational and trade professions. By helping recipients offset the local cost of living and housing, these opportunities unlock potential and strengthen our regional workforce.
The 2025 Application Process
The Workforce Scholarship application process opens in May 2025. Eligible applicants must plan to enroll for the Fall 2025 or Winter/Spring 2026 semesters.

Learn MoreYulisa Mendez, a 2016 scholarship recipient, is pursuing her Master’s Degree in Social Work to help vulnerable populations in our community. The first person in her family to go to college after becoming a mother in high school, Yulisa graduated college one year early with honors. She is presenting her psychology research at universities across California.
Asked about the importance of community scholarships, Alina Rose Sabah said they are the only ‘real’ scholarships as all the rest are just entering a sweepstakes. The scholarship committee chose the perfect recipient to honor the Robert "Fro" Frolich's legacy.
Learn More“At first nothing worked, but through years of steady application and many disastrous cakes, I found my niche. I got a job at a local bakery and took all the culinary classes offered at school, did five internships at different restaurants and bakeries and knew that culinary school would be next.” A perfect recipient, Alina received the Robert “Fro” Frolich Scholarship for a student pursuing their dreams. Fro was a beloved community member who lived passionately, his memorial scholarship, not retired, made sure those like Alina can fulfill life-long dreams.

"As a first-generation low-income student, all of the odds were against me. I am eternally grateful for how TTCF and your donors have helped me," Leslie said. She's been paying it forward at every opportunity ever since.
Learn MoreOnce at University, Leslie Gonzalez maintained the high GPA and community service that earned her the Cameron and Jane Baird Scholarship. She quickly found a place to give back in the Salinas public library. “With lack of time and language barriers, some of these parents aren’t able to help their children in their education,” so Leslie volunteered during her free time to help school children with their classwork. “I was very privileged to have had so much support through different people. Now, I want to ‘pay it forward.’”
