Nick Sassarini was born and raised in Truckee and graduated from Tahoe-Truckee High School in 1977. He was an avid fisherman and felt most at home on the Truckee River. Nick was happy camping and taking horses on adventures with the Truckee Donner Horseman’s Association. Nick attended Lassen Community College, earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Geology at Sonoma State, and his Master’s Degree in Geology at Kansas State University. His career led him to Portland, Oregon, to work for Sweet-Edwards/EMCON as a geologist where he lived happily with his wife Barbara. Nick is loved and missed by all that had the chance to meet him.
Requirements: Available to students of Truckee High School.
