Tahoe Mountain Resorts Foundation Scholarships

Tahoe Mountain Resorts Foundation (TMRF) Environmental Award scholarships seek to recognize students committed to combating climate change and/or improving conditions for humanity.  The award will be given to a student who demonstrates activities, successful academics, and/or clear vision around these particular issues. TMRF is committed to supporting the scholastic achievements of graduating seniors from public and private high schools located within the TTUSD boundary, including Truckee High, North Tahoe High, Forest Charter High, Sierra Continuation High School, Cold Stream Alternative, Sugar Bowl Academy, and Tahoe Expedition Academy. Requirements:

This TMRF Environmental Award scholarship seeks to recognize students committed to combating climate change and/or improving conditions for humanity.  These awards are given to students who demonstrate activities, successful academics, and/or clear vision around these particular issues.  Requirements include:

• Demonstrated interest and/or clear vision around the student’s ability to significantly improve the climate and/or the human condition.  
• Academic achievement (minimum GPA of 3.5)
• Financial need and vocational interest are considered, but a scholarship may be awarded based on merit as well as financial need. 
• Extra-curricular activities, environmental interests, and volunteer efforts.
• Individual interviews (if selected as a finalist).  Finalists will be provided additional information to prepare for interviews.
• Must be a resident of Truckee, unincorporated Placer County around Truckee, and/or North Lake Tahoe (California side only). Or the student must attend a high school in this geographic area (roughly equivalent to the TTUSD boundary). 
• This award is open to public and private school students in this geographic area.
• Award winners must attend a 2- or 4-year institution in the Fall of 2024, in pursuit of a degree or vocational certificate.

Amounts: One award of $100,000 payable $25,000 per year. If the winner cannot accept the full award amount, the remaining funds may be allocated to the runners-up.
