Our Grantees Make Tahoe Truckee a better place

Any eligible organization can apply for any project, program, or capacity-building opportunity. Bring us your creative ideas, your requests for general operating funds, or your needs for expanding services.

We seek to award $100,000+ annually to local nonprofits. We fund seven areas of impact:

• Animal Welfare
• Arts and Culture
• Community Improvement
• Education
• Environment
• Health and Human Services
• Youth Development

Every December, the Queen of Hearts hosts the GEMS Grants Showcase. The Fund invites eight finalists across four areas of impact to present for 3 minutes each. Queen of Hearts’ supporters vote for first place and second place winners in each category.

The Queen of Hearts Women’s Fund was founded on the belief that together, we are stronger. More than 1,300 women have donated $1,000+ to create an endowment. Every year, this endowment produces tens of thousands of dollars for a grant cycle.

The Nature Grant Cycle is made possible by TTCF’s Nature Fund and the Martis Fund*. Martis Fund resources are distributed to managing and restoring habitat and forest lands specifically in Martis Valley or the greater Eastern Placer County region, whereas TTCF’s dollars can be awarded across North Tahoe-Truckee.

These dollars support:

• Forest resiliency
• Healthy land, water and air
• Vibrant fish and wildlife populations
• Accessible open space
• Education

*The Martis Fund is a collaborative project of the developers of the Martis Camp community and its members, Mountain Area Preservation (MAP), and Sierra Watch.

The Truckee Core Values Fund is a community event fund created by the Truckee Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Town of Truckee. It is powered by the Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation. The fund supports nonprofit organization events or events that partner with nonprofit organizations who align with at least one of Truckee’s Core Values:

• Family Friendly
• Natural Beauty
• Community Minded
• Arts, Culture, History

Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) allow donors to grant directly to nonprofits. Every donor is unique and has their own charitable goals. Some donors support favorite charities, while others ask TTCF for help in selecting meaningful grants.

These grants are generally donor initiated. TTCF may contact nonprofits on behalf of a donor. The best way for TTCF to connect donors with the right nonprofit missions is for nonprofits to be involved with TTCF activities and to fill out the annual common grant application.

North Tahoe-Truckee high school seniors can apply to over 90 scholarships through one online application. TTCF’s online platform notifies applicants of scholarships they’re eligible for and when they need to include additional information to complete the application.

TTCF partners with donors and other local funders to offer merit and need-based scholarships. When donors establish a TTCF scholarship fund, they choose the criteria. They can also share the story behind the scholarship.
