Families
Our families and residents make up the fabric of our community. When our neighbors are safe, fed, and healthy, all of Tahoe Truckee is better. As a community foundation, it’s our job to make sure everyone—especially those most vulnerable—can live a life of quality.
For more than 20 years, the Community Collaborative of Tahoe Truckee has been meeting regularly to analyze data, share resources and drive collective action to support our community members. Since 2017, we have helped the Katz-Amsterdam Foundation invest more than $400,000 in health and critical services for families and residents.
TTCF and CCTT strategically address our community’s health, education, and safety. Now, more people are fed, sheltered, and connected with the help they need than ever before. We partner with:
We listen to our community members when they speak. We develop research and data. And then we respond in partnership. With our partners, we leverage the resources and knowledge of the Community Collaborative of Tahoe Truckee.
TTCF led the charge to build Community House so Kings Beach families can receive the critical services they need in one place.
In 2019, we helped four of those critical service nonprofits consolidate into one. Now, all residents can access complete services at four easy-to-reach locations of Sierra Community House.
From 2011-2020, TTCF helped administer $800,000 in Placer County Mental Health Services Act funding.
We’ve partnered with the Katz-Amsterdam Foundation to channel $460,500 to mental health services in Tahoe-Truckee.
CCTT’s Suicide Prevention Coalition funding provided mental health screenings to 154 high school students in a single year.
All children should have what they need to become strong, resilient adults. From early childhood development to their first steps into adulthood, TTCF and CCTT partner to give kids the tools they need.
In a year, nearly 300 families visit local Truckee and Kings Beach Family Rooms.
The Queen of Hearts Women’s Fund helped Excellence in Education bring Aim High to our region to help hundreds of kids each summer.
TTCF grant cycles fund after-school activities, mentorship programs, science training, and more.
To break systemic cycles of poverty, all our kids deserve the same opportunities. By making higher education more available, we can even the playing field for our residents.
